SAMSUNG DCS TELEPHONE SYSTEM WITH CADENCE VOICEMAIL QUICK REFERENCE
Extension Number: Your extension and mailbox number is the three digit number in the upper left corner of your telephone display.
Call Transfer: Press the person’s button on your telephone or press the TRSF key and dial the extension number.
Remote Hold: This feature places a call on hold at another telephone. Press the person’s button on your telephone and then press HOLD. To retrieve a call on hold at your telephone from another telephone dial 12 and your extension number.
Flash: The FLASH button is used to access telephone company features such as external call transfer.
Call Forwarding: The FWD ALL or FWD NA buttons forward your calls to voicemail. The FWD ALL button sends your calls to voicemail immediately while the FWD NA button sends them to voicemail after they ring for 15 seconds at your telephone.
Conference Calls: While on the first call press the CONF button to place the caller on conference hold. Make another call and press the CONF button again to place the second caller on conference hold. You can then either make another call for the conference or press CONF to start the conference call. You can conference yourself and four other parties using the telephone system.
Unsupervised Conference: You can set up a conference call and then take yourself out of the call. This can be used to transfer an incoming caller to a cell phone or an employee working at home. Follow the instructions above for setting up a conference call. Once the conference is established, press the CONF button, dial your own extension number, press CONF again, and hang up. We suggest trying this once with a test call once to become comfortable with the procedure before you actually start to use it. It does work very well.
Soft Keys: The soft keys are located directly below your telephone display. They are context sensitive and allow you to access additional functions on your telephone. The scroll key can be used to bring up additional soft key options when they are available.
Voice Mail Transfer: To transfer a call to a voicemail box press the VT button and then press the person’s button on your telephone.
Voicemail: Use the MSG key to call the voicemail system. Your initial password is 9876. You can access voicemail remotely by calling your main number after hours and entering * followed by your mailbox number when you hear the main greeting. Your mailbox number is the same as your extension number. You will need to set up your mailbox using the Personal Options (Press 3) Section of the mailbox owner main menu. Record a personal greeting and name and enter your name for your mailbox. Within Personal Options press 1 to record your Personal Greeting, 5 to record your Name, and 4 to enter the keys correspond to the first 3 letters of your first and last name. It is important to complete each of these steps as described on pages 6 and 7 of the Cadence user guide. (For the initial installation the keys corresponding to the first 3 letters of your names have already been entered for you.).
You can leave a message in someone else’s mailbox by pressing # followed by their button or mailbox number. You can leave a message in your own mailbox by pressing ## at your telephone.
