The 816 Plus system is an analog product that starts as a 4 line and 8 telephone capacity system that can expand to accommodate up to 8 lines and 16 telephones. After over ten years on the market it still continues to sell very well It is available with both speaker and display telephones. The 816 Plus is a very price competitive system for offices that expect to stay within its size range and do not need some of the features of the digital telephone systems. Samsung's Starmail voicemail system can be used with the 816Plus system. However, we do not recommend the 816 Plus system for customers that are planning to purchase a voicemail system as part of a new telephone system installation. A key feature of the 816 Plus system is that each 816 telephone has lighted buttons, which show the status of every other telephone on the system. The station selection buttons allow users to quickly call other extensions and transfer calls. The systems also offers flexible ringing, and the ability to quickly set up speed dials for call transfer to external voicemail systems. |

It is a very flexible, easy to use general purpose telephone system. It is also one of the most cost effective digital telephone systems on the market with a two year limited warranty for new telephone equipment. The DCS family has four different control units depending on the required system size and telephone company line interfaces. Typical capacity for each system and telephone company line options are shown below:
|
||
| SYSTEM | TYPICAL TELEPHONE CAPACITY | TELEPHONE CO LINE OPTIONS |
| DCS Compact | 20 |
Standard |
| iDCS 100 | 40 | Standard, ISDN BRI, T1, ISDN PRI |

| Actual capacities will vary depending on the system
configuration. Each of the DCS systems uses the same telephones, which allows a
customer to upgrade to larger DCS system and keep the same telephones. The original
DCS telephones are offered in 12 and 24 button versions with full speakerphone capability
and displays. The newer Falcon telephones have standard displays and
speakerphones with the options of 8, 18, or 24 button models. The speakerphone
quality on either DCS telephone is outstanding, with the Falcon telephones offering an
optional full duplex module and external microphones for conference room settings.
The DCS systems have excellent integration with almost any voicemail system, but Samsung's
SVMi4 and SVMi8, which are tightly integrated with the telephone systems, are
generally the preferred options. |
